Spread Your Wings! Butterflies

Butterfly colors are a reminder of Navratri, an Indian festival that celebrates the strength, beauty, and power of women.

Since childhood Pranali was inspired by arts and crafts.  She does water and oil painting, wood burning, henna tattoo and polymer clay art.  She has been featured in many art exhibits in Metuchen.

Filmmaking is a way to explore and build the endless imagination that's inside your head.  The vivid colors that the young girl sees through the viewfinder represents exploration and finding a voice from a single camera.

Emily is an EBHS and Rutgers Mason Gross alumni.  She is currently a MFA candidate at Columbia University.  Emily is also a co-founder of EB Indie, East Brunswick's film festival to showcase young creatives.

A combination of shapes and patterns, put together.  With nice shades and colors, everyone will surely find the butterfly cute!

Darsh is a 1st grader and love to do art!  He likes to draw and color cartoon characters.  Also he loves to sing, dance, play guitar and do magic!

A sage green and deep brown butterfly was an ode to the Earth's soil and greenery to represent the artists passion for nature.  It conveys that even the simplest forms of Earth are beautiful in their most untouched states.

Sisters Allyson Palla 12 year old 6th grade at Hammarskjold and Amanda Cette 20 years old at Rutgers New Brunswick majoring in Landscape Architecture.  They thought it would be a fun activity to do together over the summer.

 Inspired by the Lavender Monarch.  The contrast created on the top and bottom of the butterfly were so different it was like "night and day."

Dante is currently a 4th grader.  He loves listening to music, playing the guitar, playing volleyball, and practicing baseball with his dad.

Adorned with colorful Pansies and leaves.  Stippling technique was used to add colorful dots.  The butterfly will surely be a feast for eyes and bring joy and glee to the hearts!

Inspired by the Japanese flying kaiju.  Kaiju is the Japanese term for giant monster featured in Japanese science fiction movies.

Dante is a resident of East Brunswick who has always had a love for art and art history.  Currently a History major at Rutgers New Brunswick.

Blend of soothing colors with nice hues and shades to bring art to life!  It truly depicts the colors of Nature!
